Delaware Recyclable Products, Inc. (DRPI) Industrial Waste Landfill Permit

Pursuant to 7 Del. C., Section 6004, notice is hereby given by the Department that application has been made by Delaware Recyclable Products, Inc., 246 Marsh Lane, New Castle, DE 19720 for the modification of the DRPI Industrial Waste Landfill permit.

The DRPI Industrial Waste Landfill permit modification application requests to continue accepting construction and demolition (dry) solid waste from commercial waste haulers for disposal.  The DRPI permit modification application includes a modification to increase the final maximum landfill elevation from 130 feet mean sea level (MSL) to 190 feet MSL.  There are no proposed changes to the footprint of the landfill or the groundwater monitoring plan.  The facility hours of operation and the maximum daily tonnage of 2,400 tons will not change.

The permit application is available for review during business hours at DNREC’s Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Section office at 89 Kings Highway in Dover or at DNREC’s office located at 391 Lukens Drive in New Castle.  The documents are also available on-line at: http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/dwhs/SHWMB/Pages/SolidWasteFacilities.aspx.

A public hearing on the above permit application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request within 15 days from the date of this notice (April 26, 2019).  A request for a hearing shall be in writing and shall state the nature of the issues to be raised at the hearing.  It must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the activity’s probable impact.
