Notice is hereby given that Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. has submitted an application, pursuant to 7 DE Admin. Code 1102, Section 2.1, 11.2.9, and 12.3 for a permit amendment at 500 GBC Drive, Building 500, Newark, Delaware.

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. requests a limit of their natural gas usage for their six (6) Cleaver Brooks boilers limited to a total of 150.55 MMCF/year and a limit on hours of operation on No. 2 diesel fuel for their five (5) dual fired Cleaver Brooks boilers to 750 hours/year each. These limits are necessary to restrict Siemen’s Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. potential to emit air pollutants, and the limit will be enforceable by the EPA and the state. The new usage limits will result in a reduction of the previously permitted emissions at the facility. Reductions of emissions at the facility are -9.46 TPY of NOx, -6.08 TPY of CO, -21.67 TPY SO2, -3.07 TPY of PM, and -4.27 TPY of VOCs. Total estimated emissions from the facility are 13.94 TPY of NOx, 7.92 TPY of CO, 0.33 TPY, SO2, 0.93 TPY of PM, and 0.73 TPY of VOCs.

The application, the “draft” permit (Permit: APC-1983/0397-OPERATION (Amendment 8)(SM)), all materials that the applicant has submitted (other than those granted confidential treatment under DNREC rules), and a copy or summary of other materials, if any, considered in preparing the “draft” permit may be inspected at the office of the Division of Air Quality, State Street Commons, 100 W. Water Street, Suite 6A, Dover, DE 19904. A public hearing concerning the permitting action will not be held unless the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control receives a request for such hearing within thirty (30) days from the date of this notice, ending June 17, 2019. A request for a hearing shall be in writing and must show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
