Notification of Negotiations for a Brownfields Development Agreement for the White’s Body Shop Site (DE-1702)

Pursuant to the Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA), 7 Del. C. Chapter 91, §9126, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) is required to issue a public notice within twenty days after entering into negotiations for a Brownfields Development Agreement (BDA).  A BDA is an agreement between DNREC and a Brownfields Developer with respect to a Certified Brownfield Site that sets forth a scope of work and schedule of remedial activities during the development of the Site.

DNREC’s Remediation Section (DNREC-RS) is negotiating a BDA with Mt. Joy United Methodist Church regarding the White’s Auto Body Site (Site), located at 410, 414, 416, 418, 420, 422, 431, 435, 436, 437, 441, 443, 445, and 447 S. Buttonwood Street  in Wilmington, Delaware.  Identified by New Castle County as tax parcel numbers 26.050.40.015, 26.050.40.016, 26.050.40.017, 26.050.40.018, 26.050.40.019, 26.050.40.020, 26.050.40.010, 26.050.40.009, 26.050.40.022, 26.050.40.008, 26.050.40.006, 26.050.40.005, 26.050.40.004, and 26.050.40.003 the Site may have had a release of hazardous substances as a result of historical activities on site.    For more information, please see DNREC’s navigator at: http://www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3.
