Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application has been received from:

Sussex County proposes to construct approximately four thousand seven hundred linear feet (4,700 LF) of eight (8) inch diameter force main and fourteen thousand five hundred linear feet (14,500 LF) of ten (10) inch diameter force main in two separate sections.  The first section starts south of Bridgeville at the intersection of Passwaters Lane and Passwaters Farm Road, heads off road to the east end of Grey Fox Lane and continues on the west side of DuPont highway (Rt. 13) stopping just north of the Camp Road intersection.  The second section starts at the southwest side of the intersection of Swain Road and DuPont Highway (Rt. 13), heads west to Bridgeville Highway, heads south along Bridgeville Highway to Herring Run Road, heads west along Herring Run Road and then heads south off road at the Seaford Public Works yard to Market Street Extended in Seaford. The purpose of the proposed force main is to transmit sanitary sewer flow from Greenwood and Bridgeville to the City of Seaford’s sewer system and treatment facility.  This work is phase three of the Western Sussex Sanitary Sewer District Transmission Facilities project.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before September 22, 2019. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
