Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application has been received from:

Sussex County proposes to construct approximately one thousand six hundred and fifty linear feet (1,650 LF) of eight (8) inch diameter sanitary sewer force main in Rehoboth Beach starting on the east side of Coastal Highway (Rt. 1) about four hundred (400) ft. north of the Rehoboth Avenue intersection.  At the intersection, the force main will be bored across Rt. 1 and then continue approximately one thousand (1,000) ft. south along the west side of Rt. 1 to just north of the Phillips Street intersection.  The purpose of the force main construction is to allow Sussex County to potentially divert flows from their pump station 204 to their pump station 202.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before January 1, 2020. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
