Water Allocation Permit Applicatons

Mary Lou Dukes Pearson has requested an allocation permit for two proposed irrigation wells. The maximum daily withdrawal 1,440,000 gallons per day. The wells will be located east of Laurel in Sussex County, near the intersection of Johnson and Elliotts Dam Roads. Tax parcel 232-13.00-53.00.

Edward M. Steen has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 864,000 gallons per day. The well will be located east of Laurel in Sussex County, near the intersection of Hitch Pond and Laurel Roads. Tax parcel 232-19.00-5.00.

William C. Otwell has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,382,400 gallons per day. The well will be located east of Laurel in Sussex County, near the intersection of Johnson and Shiloh Church Roads. Tax parcel 232-19.00-10.04.

William R. Otwell has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 648,000 gallons per day. The well will be located east of Laurel in Sussex County, near the intersection of Jestice Farm and Johnson Roads. Tax parcel 232-19.00-10.00.

Carol Lohrmann has requested an allocation permit for one existing and one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal 720,000 gallons per day. The well will be located northwest of Magnolia in Kent County, near the intersection of State Street and Woodlytown Road. Tax parcel NM00-104.00-02-60.00.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by February 17, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
