Water Allocation Permit Applications

Shady Road Holdings, LLC has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 115,200 gallons per day. The well will be located southwest of Lewes in Sussex County, near the intersection of Plantations and Shady Roads. Tax parcel 334-6.00-511.00.

The City of Rehoboth Beach has applied for a renewal of its public water allocation which serves approximately 6,422 people in Sussex County.  The application includes seven existing public wells. The requested allocation is 5.8 million gallons (MG) per day, 147 MG per month, and 782 MG per year.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by March 16, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
