Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application has been received from:

Sussex County proposes to construct a submersible sanitary sewer pump station and approximately six thousand three hundred and forty linear feet (6,340 LF) of four (4) inch diameter force main to serve the existing Mulberry Knoll Community located north and west of Rehoboth Beach in Sussex County, Delaware.  The proposed pump station will be located on the east side of Mulberry Knoll Road just north of the Riviera Drive intersection.  The force main will be installed north along Mulberry Knoll Road from the proposed pump station to the existing Sussex County pump station located at Beacon Middle School approximately ¼ of a mile from the Mulberry Knoll Road intersection with the John J. Williams Highway (Rt. 24).

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before May 13, 2020. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
