DNREC Public Notices



The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control publishes notices in Delaware newspapers to make the public aware of applications, permitting and regulatory decisions, enforcement actions, plans for cleanups, and other actions.

These notices may be required by state law or regulations, or may be traditional communication tools for regulatory and other programs. The Department also publishes them here, as part of its continuing effort to increase transparency.

Final Plan of Remedial Action for 518 S Heald Street Site DE-1688 (11/25/2020) - The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 518 S. Heald Street Site located in Southbridge, Wilmington.
Notification of Negotiations for a Brownfields Development Agreement for the TB Acres Site, Camden-Wyoming (DE-1745) (11/25/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section is negotiating a Brownfields Development Agreement with Cypher Stone, LLC regarding the TB Acres Site, located at Welch Family Lane, Lot 15 Walnut Shade Road, Camden-Wyoming.
Notification of Public Comment for a Brownfield Development Agreement for the Cumberland Farms Store 122425 Site, (DE-1738) (11/22/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section negotiated a Brownfield Development Agreement with 1700 Marsh and Wilson Associates, LLC regarding the Cumberland Farms Store 122425 Site, located at 1700 Marsh Road, in Wilmington.
Final Plan of Remedial Action for the Claymont Cleaners/Joe and Tony’s Service Site (DE-1703) (11/22/2020) - The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Claymont Cleaners/Joe and Tony’s Service Site located in Claymont, Delaware.
Public Hearing: Revisions to the Underground Storage Tank Systems Regulations (11/15/2020) - The Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances will conduct a virtual public hearing on proposed revisions to the regulations governing Underground Storage Tank Systems.
Notification of Negotiations for a Brownfields Development Agreement Amendment for the Riverwalk Site, Wilmington (DE-1731) (11/15/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section is negotiating an amendment to the Brownfields Development Agreement with Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware regarding the Riverwalk Site, located at 105 South Market Street, Wilmington, to add additional acreage.
Final Plan of Remedial Action for OU-2 of the Whittington Woods Site DE-1509 (11/11/2020) - The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of OU-2 of the Whittington Woods Site located in Bear.

Wetlands and Subaqueous Lands Applications (11/25/2020) - A listing of applications to the DNREC Division of Water for wetlands and subaqueous lands permits and leases.
NPDES Permits: Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library (11/22/2020) - Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library has applied for reissuance of its permit to discharge treated sanitary wastewater, storm water, and groundwater to Wilson Run, a tributary of Brandywine Creek.

Call for Public Comments: USACE NWP Reissuance (11/11/2020) - The Wetlands and Subaqueous Lands Section is reviewing, and seeks public comment on, a proposal by the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to reissue 52 existing nationwide permits (NWPs), issue five new NWPs, and modify the general conditions and definitions.
Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Applications: Springcap II, LLC (11/8/2020) - Springcap II, LLC of Wilmington, has applied for a permit to install one pump station with dual pumps, 588 linear feet of 4-inch force main and related appurtenances to serve the Woods at Button Pond residential subdivision, located along Conleys Chapel Road, in Sussex County.
Water Allocation Permit: Artesian Water Company (11/8/2020) - Artesian Water Company (Chesapeake City Road) has applied for a modification of its public water allocation which is connected to a larger system serving approximately 209,000 people in New Castle County.

Availability of Delaware Bay Shellfish Grounds for Leasing (1/12/2020) - Division of Fish & Wildlife is informing interested parties that shellfish grounds are available for lease, located in the Delaware Bay, south of the East Line and North of the Murderkill River.
