DNREC Public Notices



The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control publishes notices in Delaware newspapers to make the public aware of applications, permitting and regulatory decisions, enforcement actions, plans for cleanups, and other actions.

These notices may be required by state law or regulations, or may be traditional communication tools for regulatory and other programs. The Department also publishes them here, as part of its continuing effort to increase transparency.

Permit Pending: Fitzgerald Salvage and Recycling, Inc. (8/30/2020) - Fitzgerald Salvage and Recycling, Inc., has submitted a permit application to operate a scrap tire facility in the State of Delaware.
Notification of Negotiations Concerning a Voluntary Cleanup Program Agreement for the Dover Power Plant, Mckee Run Plant, Site, (DE-0269) (8/26/2020) - DNREC is negotiating a Voluntary Cleanup Program Agreement with City of Dover regarding the McKee Run Power Plant, located at 880 Buttner Place, Dover.
Notification of Public Comment for a Brownfield Development Agreement for the 35 Commerce Street Site (DE-1734) (8/23/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section has negotiated a Brownfield Development Agreement with Shamrock3 LLC regarding the 35 Commerce Street Site, in Wilmington.
Notice Of Joint Public Hearing: Diamond State Port Corporation (8/23/2020) - DNREC will hold a public hearing on a proposal from Diamond State Port Corporation to build a new container port at Edgemoor. The project will require permits from the Div. of Water and Div. of Waste and Hazardous Substances, as well as a Federal Consistency Certification from the Delaware Coastal Management Program.
Notification of Public Comment for a Brownfield Development Agreement for the Taylor Landfill, Glasgow, Site (DE-0089) (8/23/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section has negotiated a Brownfield Development Agreement with 2787 Partners, LLC regarding the Taylor Landfill, Glasgow Site, located at 2787 Pulaski Highway, Newark.
Notification of Public Comment for a Brownfield Development Agreement for the 2301 N Market Street Site, Wilmington (DE-1721) (8/19/2020) - DNREC’s Remediation Section has negotiated a Brownfield Development Agreement with Wilmington Neighborhood Conservancy Land Bank Corporation regarding the 2301 N Market Street Site, in Wilmington.
Amended Proposed Plan of Remedial Action for Trails & Pathways, Christina Pedestrian Bridge (DE-1560) (8/19/2020) - DNREC invites public comment on an amended proposal to clean up the Trails & Pathways, Christina Pedestrian Bridge Site in Wilmington.

Public Meeting Notice for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Evaluation of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (8/30/2020) - NOAA will hold a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, as part of the federal performance evaluation of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve.
Federal Consistency Determinations: Shelton Dredging Project (8/30/2020) - An applicant proposes the hydraulic dredging of approximately 200 cubic yards of accumulated sediment in a boat slip in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal near the intersection of Pilottown Road and New Road in Lewes.

Public Hearing: Striped Bass Spawning Season and Area Restrictions (2/2/2020) - The Division of Fish & Wildlife will conduct a public hearing (Docket #2019-R-F-0026) on on February 26, 2020, on proposed revisions to the regulations governing Striped Bass Spawning Seasons and Area Restrictions.
Availability of Delaware Bay Shellfish Grounds for Leasing (1/12/2020) - Division of Fish & Wildlife is informing interested parties that shellfish grounds are available for lease, located in the Delaware Bay, south of the East Line and North of the Murderkill River.
