Delaware is a great state for youth fishing! The Division of Fish & Wildlife offers free fishing lessons for children and young teens through the Take A Kid Fishing! program.

Take A Kid Fishing! is sponsored by DNREC’s Aquatic Resources Education Center. Take A Kid Fishing! events are geared toward children ages 6 through 15, and take place at ponds throughout the state. Participants learn fundamental fishing skills and conservation. All equipment is provided, plus there are activity stations, prizes and time to practice new fishing skills.

Participation in the Take A Kid Fishing! program is free, but preregistration is required. Please register by emailing Mary Rivera your name and the number of young people in your group.
