Earn your Delaware Boating Certificate with this four-day course.

This four-day course, offered by the Nanticoke River Sail & Power Squadron, is part of the Delaware Boating Safety program. It is presented on four consecutive Thursday evenings (May 2, May 9, May 16 and May 23). Participants must attend all four sessions in order to receive their completion certificate.

The well-known course is a joint effort of the Power Squadron and the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife. Anyone born after January 1, 1978, must successfully complete a course to operate a boat in Delaware waters. It also has become popular in recent years because successful graduates receive a Delaware Boating Safety Certificate. That certificate frequently can earn graduates a discount on their boat insurance.

May is Safe Boating Month. In order to commemorate Safe Boating Month, the course is free for all participants.
