Join forces with the Friends of Wilmington Parks to remove invasive plant species and promote a healthier ecosystem in our parks.

Learn why invasive species are harmful for our environment, how to identify invasive species, and how to remove them effectively.

Please wear close-toed shoes. Long pants are recommended to avoid poison ivy and ticks. Dress for the weather. Bring water and sunscreen.

Projects will be outdoors and involve manual labor. Activities may include trimming vegetation, pulling vines, putting pulled vegetation into trash bags, and other similar tasks.

Projects may involve the use of hand tools. They will not involve operating power tools.

Work gloves, equipment, and instruction are provided. Participants may choose to bring their own work gloves and hand tools if they prefer.
