The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public meeting to share information on the proposal to add the the Blades Groundwater Site to the National Priorities List (NPL).

The National Priorities List is a list of the sites eligible for long-term cleanup financed under the federal Superfund Program. The proposed listing of the Blades Groundwater Site is due to the identification of electroplating compounds, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and hazardous metals contamination in municipal and residential drinking water wells in and near the Town of Blades.

Public notice of the proposed listing appeared in the Federal Register for November 8, 2019. The EPA will accept public comments on the proposal through January 7, 2020, either online (Search for “EPA-HQ-OLEM-2019-0484”) or via mail at the address below:
