Watch students in 5th through 8th come together to race solar-powered model cars they’ve designed and built.

It’s a one-day event of creativity, engineering, and speed.

DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate has hosted Junior Solar Sprint for more than 20 years. The event is part of the Delaware Technology Student Association State Conference. The winning team qualifies for the national Junior Solar Sprint sponsored by the US Army Educational Outreach Program.

There will be approximately 100 attendees, including students from 12 middle schools, their teachers and/or parent volunteers, and representatives from the event sponsors (Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility, Chesapeake Utilities, Delaware Electric Cooperative, Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation).
