Persons born on or after January 1, 1978 must successfully complete a boating safety course before operating a motorized boat, including personal watercraft, on Delaware waters.
This is an eight-hour, one-day course, part of the Delaware Boating Safety program. It is presented by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 053-12-02 5 NR.
In an effort to minimize risks of COVID transmission, masks will be required for all instructors, students, and visitors participating in this class. The Lewes Public Library has recently sent out guidance requiring masks for all employees and volunteers in the building.
Satisfactory completion of the course will result in a Delaware Safe Boating Certificate.
All materials for the class will be provided. Bring a bag lunch.
