The DNREC Division of Air Quality will host a public meeting to discuss a community air quality-monitoring project for the Claymont community in New Castle County.

The Claymont Community Volatile Organic Compound Study was a six-month study to investigate citizen concerns focused on volatile organic compounds (VOC) that could originate from the nearby Claymont/Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania border where several industrial facilities are located.

The study shows that VOC concentrations in Claymont were very low and similar in both specific compounds and amounts as measured by the monitoring station in Wilmington.
