Seining the Bay at Slaughter Beach

Details:

Use a seine net to catch crabs, fish and other aquatic species swimming in the surf at Slaughter Beach.

Observe the cool things that you catch and learn to identify them with a naturalist. Participants may assist with seine net as permitted by the instructor and may enter the water to assist with carrying the net to the beach. Youth participants may require assistance to handle a seine net and will need to be accompanied in the water by an adult.

Participants should wear clothing that can get wet and must wear close-toed shoes. Wear a hat and/or bring sunblock and bug spray.

This program meets at the Slaughter Beach Pavilion (behind the fire hall) at 359 Bay Avenue, Milford DE 19963.
