The winning entries for the 2021/22 edition of the Delaware State Waterfowl Stamp Contest were chosen by a panel of five judges who independently inspected the artwork by appointment on Oct. 6, 2020 in the DNREC Auditorium.
A painting of a Mallard duck by Richard Clifton, of Milford, will grace the 2021/22 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp. Mr. Clifton will receive a $2,500 prize and 150 artist’s proofs of the limited edition print series of his first-place entry. Second place went to Caleb Metrich, of Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Third place went to Matt Patterson, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire.
Honorable mentions went (left to right) to Jonathan Milo, of Monroe, Connecticut, Paul Makuchal, of Pocomoke City, Maryland and Robert Metropulos, of Minocqua, Wisconsin.
The 2021/22 Waterfowl Stamp judges were Neal Dukes, Advisory Council on Wildlife and Freshwater Fish, Taylor Deemer, Ducks Unlimited Regional Director for Delaware, Christy Willis, Delaware Ducks Unlimited, Robin Tyler, wildlife enthusiast and Justyn Foth, DNREC waterfowl and gamebird biologist.
