The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife holds annual fishing and hunting photography contests to help celebrate Delaware’s traditions of fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation.
This contest is open to Delaware residents only.
One entry form should be submitted with each photo entry. A maximum of three (3) entries per person will be accepted. Photographs must have been taken in Delaware. Entries will not be returned. Do not put your or anyone else’s name on the photo itself.
Winning photos will be featured in the Hunting and Trapping Guide or the Fishing Guide and may appear as the cover. Entries may also be used by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and/or Division of Fish and Wildlife for websites, advertisements and publications.
Digital photos must be at least 300 dpi resolution when blown up to 8 x 10 inches. Photographers are encouraged to use digital cameras or high quality smartphone cameras.
Normal processing of RAW image files and minor adjustments to color and contrast are acceptable, as is minimal cropping. Nothing should be added to an image and, aside from dust spots, nothing should be taken away. HDR and focus stacking are permitted as long as all manipulation is disclosed upon entry.
An entrant must hold all rights to the photograph and must not infringe on the rights of any other person, or submit images that involve the unlawful harm of fish or wildlife species or damage to the environment.
Portrait orientation is preferred. Landscape photos may be cropped by DNREC.
All entries will be judged. Judges will choose a technically suitable photograph that best depicts the theme for fishing (“Reel” Good Time) or for hunting (Our Hunting Tradition).
Photographs should depict anyone of all ages involved in legal fishing or hunting activities. Preference will be given to clear, good quality photographs.
