The Brandywine Zoo, located just off the Brandywine River, is accredited by the American Zoological Association. It is managed by DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society.

The zoo, open since 1905, is home to large and small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Major exhibits include bald eagles, Andean condors, river otters, and red pandas.

Plans for the park, to be implemented over a span of five to eight years, include improvements and updates.
