A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program for the following: Angola by the Bay Living Shoreline (2022.0084)

Angola by the Bay Property Owners Association, Inc. is proposing to utilize U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit (NWP) 54 to construct a living shoreline project within its community in Lewes, Sussex County, Delaware. The project includes 2,225 linear feet within six operable reaches intended to enhance vegetated wetland buffers along the waterfront, improve water quality in Herring Creek, increase shoreline stability, and improve water access for recreational purposes. Plans include depositing fill material to establish a marsh platform, constructing edges and toes of fill areas with timber, coir fiber logs, or a combination of the two, and planting vegetation in regulated areas and uplands.

Comments concerning this Federal Consistency Certification will be accepted for 30 days from the date of this notice.
