Federal Consistency Determinations have been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program for the following:

USFWS Bennetts Pier Rd & Big Stone Beach Rd Closures (2020.0097)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes to assist Delaware Wild Lands (DWL) to close the end of Bennett’s Pier Road to vehicle traffic, install a barrier across the road to prevent vehicle passage and close any northward access from the end of Big Stone Beach Road. The goal of this project is to prevent vehicles from trespassing onto a DWL-owned stretch of beach approximately 3.6-miles in length, extending from Brockenbridge Gut to the southern end of Big Stone Beach to protect sensitive wildlife and natural resources of ecological importance.

USFWS Lewes-Rehoboth Canal Living Shoreline Assistance (2020.0098)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes to install 115 to 150 feet of living shoreline in the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal using coir logs and shell bags to rebuild and stabilize the shoreline and restore a fringe of salt marsh along the edge of the canal.
