Final Plan of Remedial Action for 401 Bellevue Road (DE-1711)

Division of NAME

Published: Oct. 14, 2020

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 401 Bellevue Road Site (Site) located in Newark (also part of the larger Newark South Groundwater Plume Superfund Site). The Site was formerly a machine shop along with an HVAC duct fabrication, insulation, and coatings technology company. The clean-up requirements include the installation of a vapor barrier system under buildings; an Environmental Covenant to restrict the Site to non-residential uses and to limit groundwater withdrawal; and compliance with a Contaminated Material Management Plan for redevelopment and Long Term Stewardship Plan for indoor air monitoring. The Site will be re-developed for commercial purposes.

DNREC issued public notice of the Proposed Plan for 401 Bellevue Road on September 20, 2020. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
