Final Plan of Remedial Action for 900 N Broad Street Site (DE-1781)

Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: Nov. 9, 2022

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 900 N Broad Street Site located in Middletown. The Site operated as a supplier of agricultural products, which reportedly included various fertilizers and pesticides, since approximately the early 1960s. Prior to this, the site was agricultural land. Five underground storage tanks have reportedly been removed from the Site. The Site will be subject to an environmental covenant limiting groundwater withdrawal. Site soil and groundwater will be managed through a contaminated materials management plan (CMMP). A long term stewardship (LTS) plan will maintain the long term integrity of the remedy.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 900 N Broad Street Site on October 9, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
