The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the DE-1600 OU-2 Site located in Newark, Delaware. The Site is the former location of the Cavaliers Country Club, and OU-2 contains structures formerly used for grounds maintenance and storage purposes. OU-2 requires the following:

1. Source excavation, removal, and disposal of contaminated soils
2. Restriction of installation of groundwater wells, unless approved by DNREC-RS and DNREC Division of Water
3. Compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) document

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Cavaliers Country Club Site on March 16, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan during this time frame, which concluded on April 5, 2022.
