Final Plan of Remedial Action for Fork Branch School (DE-1676)

Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: May 23, 2021

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Fork Branch School Site located in Dover. The Site, once used as a small-arms shooting range for target practice by the Delaware State Police Department requires a remedial action work plan; removal of soils and spent ammunition debris of the earthen firing impact berm; removal and/or closure in place of the underground storage tank (UST); a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP); and an Environmental Covenant to ensure the compliance with the CMMP.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Fork Branch School Site on April 28, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/Detail/FacilityDetail.aspx?id=10744640
