Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: Oct. 3, 2021

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Hatteras Property Site (DE-1762) located southeast of Sophers Row and southwest of Clapham Road in the Magnolia area of Kent County, Delaware. The Site is approximately 2.47 acres and consists of a portion of a 99-acre agricultural land that will be redeveloped into a residential community.

Historically, the Site has operated as orchards and agricultural land. An interim remedial action was conducted to address arsenic contamination in surface and shallow soils on the Site. No further remedial actions are required.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Hatteras Property Site on September 5, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
