Final Plan of Remedial Action for Talleyville Sunoco (DE-1715)

Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: Aug. 1, 2021

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Talleyville Sunoco Site located in Wilmington. The Site was formerly a gasoline and service station from at least the early 1960’s with numerous historic USTs, fuel dispensers, and confirmed releases from the UST system. Historic site operations have resulted in petroleum releases which have impacted the soil and groundwater. The remedial action required includes an Environmental Covenant which limits groundwater withdrawal and a Contaminated Materials Management Plan for the Site.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Talleyville Sunoco Site on July 4, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
