The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 815 South Market Street Site (DE-1767) [“Site”] located at 815 South Market Street in Wilmington. The Site was historically used for various commercial operations, including an auto salvage yard and other operations conducted by construction contractors.

An interim action soil removal was performed on a small portion of the Site in accordance with a DNREC-approved work plan, and the Site will be subject to the following key additional remedial actions: development of and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), and the recording of an Environmental Covenant that restricts site use to non-residential, restricts groundwater withdrawal from beneath the Site, and requires compliance with the CMMP.
