The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 1 Forge Drive Site located in Newark. The Site was once used for the manufacturing of silicon-carbon based composite parts and ceramic parts and was also the location of several former heating oil underground storage tanks (USTs). The proposed clean-up requirements include an Environmental Covenant (EC) restricting the Site to commercial use only, prohibiting the use of groundwater at the Site, and a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) to enable construction workers to safely handle any potential contaminated soil and groundwater at the Site.
