Spray Irrigation Permit: Town of Middletown

The Town of Middletown has applied to the Groundwater Discharges Section for an Operation Permit to allow for the spray irrigation of highly treated wastewater onto 78.8 acres of the St. Anne’s Golf Course rough, greens, tees, and fairways utilizing an already existing irrigation system. The golf course is located on New Castle County Tax Parcels 2305400001, 2305300060, and 2305100001 adjacent to the St. Anne’s subdivision at the northeast corner of the intersection of Green Giant Road and Wiggins Mill Road. The Town of Middletown is currently permitted by State of Delaware Spray Irrigation Permit DEN Number 359298-13 for the operation of the Middletown Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Middletown Wastewater Treatment Plant treats and spray irrigates domestic wastewater collected from the Town of Middletown. The facility is located on the south side of Delaware Route 301, east of County Road 10, south of Bunker Hill Road, New Castle County, Delaware.

A public hearing on the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
