Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application has been received from:

Sussex County proposes to construct approximately seven hundred and seventy-five linear feet (775 LF) of four (4) inch diameter force main, three thousand and twenty-five linear feet (3,025 LF) of six (6) inch diameter force main, seven hundred and fifty linear feet (750 LF) of one and a half (1.5) inch diameter force main and a simplex pump station to help serve residents in the Sussex County Herring Creek Sanitary Sewer District. The proposed improvements are located east of the John J. Williams Highway (Rt. 24) between the Sloan Rd. and Banks Rd. intersections near Angola. The proposed pump station and five hundred linear feet (500 LF) of 1.5 inch diameter force main are proposed on tax parcel 2-34-17.00-166.04, which is located on the south side of Banks Road about three hundred and fifty feet southeast of the Dogwood Lane intersection. The two hundred and fifty linear feet (250 LF) of 1.5 inch diameter force main is proposed on Cari Dr. up to the Creekview Dr. intersection. The six (6) inch diameter force main starts on Dogwood Lane, then heads northwest to the end of Shady Lane, then heads northwest to Canal Drive, then heads southwest on Canal Dr. to Banks Rd. and ends about two hundred and fifty (250) feet northwest on Banks Rd. The four (4) inch diameter force main spans Banks Rd. from the Green Rd. intersection to about four hundred (400) feet southeast of the Blue Blvd. intersection.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before January 13, 2021. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
