Water Allocation Permit Applications

Artesian Water Company, Inc. has requested a modification of an allocation permit for three existing wells with a combined capacity of 1,650 gpm and one proposed well with a capacity of 1,000 gpm. The requested allocation is 3.8 MGD, 106.2 MG per month, and 1274.4 MG per year. The well will be located 0.3 miles west of Armstrong in New Castle County on Choptank Road. Tax parcel 13-017.10-022.

Delaware State University has requested a renewal of an allocation permit for two existing wells with a combined capacity of 160 gpm. The requested allocation is .23 MGD, 5.0 MG per month, and 37.0 MG per year. The wells are located in Dover on Loop Road. Tax parcel ED-00-057.00-01-19.00.000.

Howard Webb has requested an allocation permit for one proposed well with a capacity of 350 gpm. The requested allocation is 0.6 MGD, 4.7 MG per month and 14.1 MG per year. The well will be located 0.72 miles east of Shawnee in Sussex County on Bucks Road. Tax parcel 3-30-11.00-0066.00.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by May 30, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
