The Town of Bethany Beach has requested a renewal of its public water allocation for four existing public wells and one proposed public well. The requested allocation is 3.2 million gallons (MG) per day, 88 MG per month, and 441 MG per year. The wells serve approximately 13,000 residential people in Sussex County.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Seeney Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,440,000 gallons per day. The wells are located north of Harrington in Kent County, on Whitleyburg Road. Tax parcel #MN 156.00-01-16.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Cain Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,080,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, on Canterbury Road. Tax parcel #SM 130.00-01-70.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Harrison Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,440,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, on Spectrum Farms Road. Tax parcel #SM 136.00-01-10.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Luff Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 684,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Harrington in Kent County, on High Stump Road. Tax parcel #MN 185.00-01-44.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Welch Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,440,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, on Mid State Road. Tax parcel #MN 156.00-01-08.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for one existing irrigation well and one pond on the Bergold Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,728,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Harrington in Kent County, on Dupont Hwy. Tax parcel #SM 139.00-01-15.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for five existing irrigation wells on the Collison Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 2,736,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, Mid State Road. Tax parcel #MN 159.00-01-32.01.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for two existing irrigation wells on the Spartan Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,008,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, on Killens Pond Road. Tax parcel #MN 139.00-01-56.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for five existing irrigation wells on the Winkler Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 3,816,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Felton in Kent County, on S. Dupont Hwy. Tax parcel #MN 160.00-01.02.00.000.

Schiff Farms, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for one existing irrigation well and one pond on the Smith Farm. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,008,000 gallons per day. The wells are located East of Harrington in Kent County, on Butler Road. Tax parcel #MN 09-180.00-03-01.000.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by October 4, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
