Youth Fishing Programs

The Division of Fish and Wildlife offers free fishing lessons for children and young teens, through the Take A Kid Fishing! program. Younger children can learn about Delaware’s amazing fish and aquatic creatures by participating in the Small Fry Adventures program. Boating Safety for Kids

The Office of Boating Safety and Education takes great pride in educating Delaware’s youth on boating safety. They offer several programs to get children interested in and learning about boating safety. It’s important to start early so that each youngster is the best and the most knowledgeable boater he or she is capable of becoming.


Children in Nature

Delaware Children in Nature has merged into the Delaware Association for Environmental Education (daeeonline.org) which helps to ensure that every citizen in Delaware has the opportunity to become involved in meaningful outdoor experiences.        


Blackbird Creek Fall Festival

The Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) offers a day of free family fun at the Blackbird Creek Fall Festival every October.
