Distribution and Marketing Permit – Request for Permit Renewal: SUEZ Water of Delaware

SUEZ Water of Delaware requests that the existing permit for the distribution and marking of water treatment residuals be renewed under Part V of the Department’s Guidance and Regulations Governing the Land Treatment of Wastes.

The existing permit authorizes the utilization of water treatment residuals generated at the Stanton and Christiana Delaware facilities as a soil amendment by qualified customers such as landscapers and contractors. 

Water treatment residuals are required to be sampled for chemical and nutrient content to assure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

Part V of the Department’s Guidance and Regulations Governing the Land Treatment of Wastes allows for the above activity pending public notice.

A public hearing on the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by 4:30 p.m. July 23, 2019.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
