Notification of Negotiations for a Brownfields Development Agreement for the Villa Maria Site, (DE-1728)

Pursuant to the Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA), 7 Del. C. Chapter 91, §9126, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) is required to issue a public notice within twenty days after entering into negotiations for a Certified Brownfields Development Agreement (BDA). A BDA is an agreement between DNREC and a Certified Brownfields Developer with respect to a Certified Brownfield Site that sets forth a scope of work and schedule of remedial activities during the development of the Site.

DNREC’s Remediation Section (DNREC-RS) is negotiating a BDA with Sacred Heart Housing Inc. regarding the Villa Maria Site (Site), located at 2004, 2006, 1920, & 1914 N Market Street., 50/52 Race Street., 1901, 1903, 1905, 1907, 1915, 1925, 1927, and 1929 Hutton Street, Wilmington, Delaware.  Identified by New Castle County as tax parcel numbers 2602910012, 2602910013, 2602910016, 2602910017, 2602910030, 2602910031, 2602910032, 2602910033, 2602910034, 2602910035, 2602910036, 2602910037, and 2602910038 the Site may have had a release of hazardous substances as a result of historical activities on site.
