Groundwater Discharges Formal Waiver Applications

Charles White has applied for a Formal Waiver to install an on-site wastewater treatment and disposal system (septic system) on his property located on the east side of Neal’s School Road (CR 553) ~120’ north of Stein Highway (Rt. 20) near Seaford, DE Sussex County tax parcel 531-12.00-26.00  The request is being made at this time because the design’s proposed trench width does not meet the width specified in the Regulations Governing the Design, Installation and Operation of On-Site Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems in Delaware. The proposed system would be an LPP system with pre-treatment that meets PSN 3 standards. It would serve an existing three (3) bedroom dwelling.

David and Denise Weidman have applied for a Formal Waiver to install an on-site wastewater treatment and disposal system (septic system) on their property located at the southwest corner of West Piney Grove Road (CR 329) and Parker Road (CR 469) near Georgetown, DE  Sussex County tax parcel 133-5.00-36.26  The request is being made to allow a system to be placed on land that does not meet current soil limiting zone criteria required by the Regulations Governing the Design, Installation and Operation of On-Site Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems in Delaware. The proposed system would be a sandlined elevated sand mound with pretreatment that meets PSN 3 standards. It will be designed for a maximum of 600 gallons per day.

A public hearing on the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
