Public Workshops: Draft Language to Regulate the Use and Manufacturing of Hydrofluorocarbons

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) will conduct three public workshops on a draft regulation to be proposed as a Delaware air regulation.  The workshops will address:

The draft language to regulate the use and manufacturing of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) through DE Admin. Code 1151. This regulation will propose the prohibitions of certain substances in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, aerosol propellants and foam end-uses.

The three workshops will be held on:

Monday, December 9, 2019 beginning at 6:00 PM at the DNREC Conference Room located at 391 Lukens Drive, New Castle, DE 19720.

Tuesday, December 10, 2019 beginning at 6:00 PM at Delaware Technical & Community College in the Carter Partnership Center, Room 540 G & H, located at 21179 College Drive, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Wednesday, December 18, 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM at the State Street Commons Training Room located at 100 W. Water Street, Suite 6A, Dover, DE 19904.

The draft regulatory language will be made available for public review at Department offices located at 715 Grantham Lane, New Castle, DE and 100 West Water Street, Suite 6A, Dover, DE. It will also be made available on DNREC’s Regulation and Plans Under Development website (https://dnrec.delaware.gov/air/permitting/under-development/).  Please contact Ajo Rabemiarisoa at (302) 739-9402 to make an appointment to inspect the proposed draft regulatory language.

Statements and testimony may be presented either orally or in writing at the public workshops. If you are unable to attend or wish to submit your comments in advance of the public workshops, please submit your written comments to the Responsible Staff Member via either email to ajo.rabemiarisoa@delaware.gov or via USPS to the address below. The Department will accept public comments through the close of business on Friday, January 17, 2020, unless a longer comment period is designated by DNREC staff at the public workshops.
