The Underground Storage Tank Advisory Committee represents the interests of both private industry and the public at large. It is open to new members. Please contact the Tank Management Section for more information.

The Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances relies on the volunteer committee to help guide its effort to adapt to federally-mandated changes, as well as any other changes that would facilitate regulation, operation, maintenance and closure of regulated underground storage tanks. The committee also helps DNREC integrate best management practices into the program.

Meetings of the Committee are posted on the DNREC Calendar of Events and on the Delaware Public Meeting Calendar.

Regulatory Changes to Meet Federal Updates

On December 12, 2019, DNREC Secretary Shawn M. Garvin signed Secretary’s Order No. 2019-WH-0047, approving amendments to the Regulations Governing Underground Storage Tank Systems (7 DE Admin. Code 1351).

The amendments, published in the Register of Regulations on January 1, 2020, reflect regulatory changes promulgated at the federal level as well as advances in UST system technologies.
