Water Allocation Permit Applications

Arbor Lyn Rehoboth Beach, LLC has requested an allocation permit for two proposed agricultural wells. The maximum daily withdrawal is 96,000 gallons per day. The wells will be located west of Rehoboth Beach in Sussex County, near the intersection of Warrington and Old Land Roads. Tax parcel 334-12.00-127.02.

Steen Farms, LLC has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 864,000 gallons per day. The well will be located east of Laurel in Sussex County, near the intersection of Elliotts Dam and Johnson Roads. Tax parcel 232-13.00-61.00.

Artesian Water Company, Inc. has requested an allocation permit for one proposed public well and one existing public well which will be connected to a larger system serving approximately 11,800 residential and 4,000 transient people in Sussex County. The requested allocation is 2.16 MG per day, 64.80 MG per month, and 730 MG per year.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by September 14, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
