Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Applications: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application has been received from:

Sussex County, to construct approximately four thousand, one hundred and sixty one linear feet of six and eight inch (4,161 LF of 6” and 8”) of C-900 PVC forcemain and appurtenances, nineteen thousand, six hundred and thirty eight linear feet of eight inch (19,638 LF of 8”) gravity sewer, three hundred and seventeen linear feet of ten inch (317 LF of 10”) gravity sewer, 75 manholes, laterals, clean outs and related facilities, to serve the existing subdivisions of Brandywood, Herring Creek Estates, Pinewater Farm, and Pinewater Woods, Sussex County, Delaware. The project area is located east of John J. Williams Highway (SR 24) between Sloan Road and Mariners Way. One segment of the forcemain will connect to pump station # 424 within the project area, and the second segment of forcemain will run westwards from pump station #425 also located in the project area, cross the John J Williams highway, run north and connect to an existing 20” forcemain at the intersection of John J. Williams highway and Hollymouth Road.

A public hearing concerning the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before March 29, 2020.   A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
