Contest Rules and Entry Form

The contest is open through Nov. 10, 2023. Photos will show waterways, landscapes, sustainable watershed practices, native plants and animals, agricultural practices and other aspects of our landscape.

A watershed is an area of land that water moves across or under to flow into a specific body of water. Anywhere you are, you are in a watershed. Delaware’s watersheds are diverse and lovely, each in their own way.

Photographers will submit photos along with information about which watershed it shows. A panel of judges, including a photographer, an educator and a DNREC scientist, will choose finalists.

The contest winner will be determined by the public on the DNREC Division of Watersheds Facebook page.

The winner will receive prizes including a gift card, a Delaware State Parks annual pass and a print of the winning photograph.

The winning photo also will appear in the Outdoor Delaware online magazine.

The winner of the 2022 contest was Kimberly Barksdale, whose photo “Turkey Trot” was taken “leaving Bear Swamp” in the Leipsic River Watershed.
