Permit Application

Notice has been given that:

Mountaire Farms of Delaware, Inc., requests a permit to construct a chlorine dioxide scrubbing solution system at their Resource Recovery Plant, 29106 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, Sussex County. This system will replace the existing system. The emissions from the Resource Recovery Plant, which includes the scrubbing solution system, will not change and are permitted to emit 0.004 TPY H2S, 19.3 TPY NH3, 49.3 TPY SO2, 13.6 TPY NOx, 11.4 TPY CO, 4.58 TPY VOC, and 4.94 TPY PM by Permit# APC-2023/0023-CONSTRUCTION.

The application for this permit may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at de.gov/dnrecnotices. To submit comments, for additional information or for information regarding how you can inspect the application, please contact Tracy Mattson at (302) 739 9402.

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending September 19, 2022. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
