The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 35 Commerce Street Site located in Wilmington. Historically, the Site had been used as a window glass manufacturing company, a boat building company and a tugboat docking facility. The Site requires a use restriction to non-residential, groundwater use restriction, capping contaminated soil with DNREC-approved materials, Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), and Long-Term Stewardship to eliminate the exposure of future Site users to existing site soils and groundwater.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 35 Commerce Street Site on June 16, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/Detail/FacilityDetail.aspx?id=10760885
