Final Plan of Remedial Action for Former Kirkwood Highway Gulf Station Site-OU-2 (DE-1495)

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Former Kirkwood Highway Gulf Station Site OU-2 located at 4601 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. The Site is a former gas station site that had a historical release.

The Former Kirkwood Highway Gulf Station Site OU-2 consists of the impacted groundwater at the site. The Former Kirkwood Highway Gulf Station Site OU-2 will be subject to the following key remedial actions: The submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan for monitored natural attenuation, the submittal and adherence to a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and long term stewardship plan, and the placement of an environmental covenant that will restrict the site’s use and the use of groundwater.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Former Kirkwood Highway Gulf Station OU-2 Site on April 13, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
