Final Plan of Remedial Action for W. B. Clerk Co. Morocco Manufacturer (DE-1234) Operable Units 1 Through 8

Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: Feb. 5, 2023

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the W. B. Clerk Co. Morocco Manufacturer Site located in Wilmington. The Site historically operated as a tannery where the use of arsenic compounds resulted in impacts to site soils. Impacted site soils are to be excavated to the extent feasible and areas currently capped with impervious surfaces are to remain intact until such time that the potentially contaminated soils are excavated, or samples indicate the cap is no longer required. Remaining site soils will be managed through a contaminated materials management plan and a long-term stewardship plan.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the W. B. CLERK CO. MOROCCO MANUFACTURER Site on January 8, 2023. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
