Public Hearing: Allen Harim Water Allocation Permit Renewal

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Water will conduct a virtual public hearing (Docket #2020-P-W-0029) regarding a Water Allocation permit renewal application submitted by Allen Harim Foods LLC, for its Harbeson Plant. The site is located South of Harbeson in Sussex County, near the intersection of Harbeson Road and Lewes Georgetown Highway.

Allen Harim Foods, LLC (Harbeson) has requested a renewal of its industrial water allocation for four existing industrial wells and one existing public well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 2,300,000 gallons per day. The wells are located south of Harbeson in Sussex County, near the intersection of Harbeson Road and Lewes Georgetown Highway. Tax parcel 235-30.00-97.00.

The virtual public hearing will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, beginning at 6 p.m. The web link to the virtual meeting is found on the DNREC Public Hearings site at de.gov/dnrechearings. Those wishing to offer verbal comments during DNREC virtual public hearings must pre-register no later than noon on the date of the virtual hearing at de.gov/dnreccomments or by telephone at 302-739-9295.

The Department will accept public comment through the close of business on Thursday April 8, 2021.
