Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application for the construction of wastewater conveyance has been received concerning the following:

Sussex County is proposing to install approximately two thousand four hundred and ninety-one linear feet (2,491 LF) of six (6) inch diameter sanitary sewer force main, valves and related appurtenances north of Rehoboth Beach in Sussex County, Delaware. The force main installation will begin at the intersection of Hebron Rd. and Holland Glade Rd., continue about four hundred (400) ft. south on the west side of Hebron Rd, then turn west to the back of the properties bordering Hebron Rd., then head south before connecting to a Rehoboth Beach gravity sewer manhole on the north side of Dunbar St. The purpose of the proposed force main is to provide the ability for Sussex County to send sanitary sewer flow from their wastewater system to the City of Rehoboth Beach treatment facility if needed.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before August 7, 2022. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
