Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application for the construction of wastewater conveyance has been received concerning the following:

Sussex County proposes to install a duplex submersible sanitary sewer pump station, an emergency bypass connection, an emergency generator, approximately one thousand seven hundred and eighty linear feet (1,780 LF) of three (3) inch diameter sanitary sewer force main and related appurtenances to serve one hundred and seventy (170) single family homes in the existing Sherwood Forest subdivision located east of the John J. Williams Highway and north of Bay Farm Road northeast of Millsboro in Sussex County, Delaware. The proposed pump station will be installed on the north side of Steele Drive just east of the Golden Arrow Path. The proposed force main will run east on Steele Drive and discharge to an existing Sussex County manhole located on School Lane just south of Long Neck Elementary School.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before November 2, 2022. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
